just now i was going to answer a call and my iphone was connected to the power line. when i got the phone, the line streched and the iphone was shot out of my hand, and the screen hit the corner of the glass that covers my table. there were scratches on it, and i haven’t been able to remove them with humid paper and soap… and they look kinda deep, too… is there any way i can remove them?

I have a scratch on my iphone as well. I’m not sure how it happened. My guess is that it was either accidentally rubbed against by a diamond ring, or a small piece of stone was on a table i set it on. It won’t come out… I’ve been working on it with ‘applesauce’ polish (by hand) and it seems to be getting slightly better. Mixed it with some ‘bar keepers friend’ and it seems to be even more effective. I think i may have this scratch totally out with the mixture. I was afraid to use a rotary tool, because it can often be too much, like when i ruined my other ipod…

I just Scratched mine too, even if any of these Solutions worked, wouldn’t it mess up the touch Screen?

I just took a look at my iPhone last night to find a 1/4″ scratch right along the pixel line. It is so obvious that there is a scratch there with the phone on because you can see a rainbow of colors through that stupid scratch. I don’t even know how it got there, I always keep in in the case and on my belt. Plus I don’t where any jewelry so I don’t know how the hell it got there. The worst part is that it is glass. Glass is not the easiest to fix plus you don’t want to affect the touch screen. I have been searching the net all night and this mourning to try and find something. All I can find is methods to take away scratches form the back, not the glass. Has anyone had any luck at using something to fix a small deep scratch?

after all the hype of the unscratchable glass screen, what do u know, mine got scratched. I left my phone in the side pocket of my duffel bag and all that was in there with it was a plastic bottle. I just found the scratch an hour ago ( I’m using my iPhone now) and its right in the middle of the screen, right on the pixel line with all the damn colors. its so annoying! please someone help me fix this! I don’t know if best buys warranty covers scratches

I noticed a 1cm scratch on my iphone the other day, but I’m at a loss as to what caused it. Its only visible when a light is shined on the screen, and it’s near the edge so not too distracting. Only had the thing a few weeks and have been pretty careful. It ought not to be marketed as scratch proof, but it’s not worth having a mare about.

I noticed a scratch on my iPhone glass. I have been crystalizing my phone with Swarovski crystals and all I can guess is a crystal or a piece of a crystal got under the phone while I was working on the back, I am promptly going to get a glass shield right after I try displex or iDrops…

Yep I got a scratch after 2 months. I think it was from a coin in the same pocket, or a piece of grit in my pocket. Annoying rainbow pattern! It’s right in the middle of my screen and is pretty annoying.

Nothing much to be done really.

I recently noticed about four scratches in my iphones screen, small ones less than a cm in length but one is in the center RIGHT on a pixel line and it’s all rainbow colored. If anyone has tried and had luck with displex, iDrops, or anything else PLEASE post a comment here and let us know!

    P.S.
I forgot to mention that I have no idea as to their cause… I always make a concious effort to not store the phone and my keys in the same pocket- but I do frequently keep a mechanical pencil in the iphone pocket. Perhaps the metal clip on it is the culprit?

Right when I got home from school I realized a huge curved scratch on the bottom quarter portion of the iphone screen, to be more specific, right where letters F and V are on the onscreen keyboard. I am really irritated and feel like my life is not at ease. It is very unsettling to know that something I used all my money on just a month ago has an unremovable scratch. I tried some alcohol and an eyeglass cleaner and simply tried to buff out the scratch because it isnt that deep, because it has not interferred with the touch screen capabilities or the pixels. I have been searching the net for ways to solve this problem. I just need a remedie to remove a surfaced scratch!

I’ve been taking good care of mine, just noticed that my iphone was in my pocket with a pack of throat sweets of all things - now there’s an annoying scratch right in the middle of the screen. Last time I tried something abrasive (brasso) on a screen the anti-glare coating came off and it looked funny, so I daren’t try it on my phone.

I’ve order iDrops - I’ll let you know how it goes as soon as I receive them.

  • 15 Wayne // Dec 11, 2008 at 4:50 am

I got a few small scratches on the edges of glass screen on the front of my iphone. I tried iDrops but it was unsuccessful in removing the scratches so I wouldn’t try iDrops to remove the scratches. I think I’ll just need to put up with the scratches on the screen.

Keys in purse. Watch out for keys in your purse. I’ve had it for a year and it took this long but none the less it does happen… scratchlessness my eye.

is says displex is not for use on glass screens, is this true?

  • 18 malcom // Jan 13, 2009 at 2:51 pm

I recently discovered a small scratch on my screen and I was really upset due to the fact I take really good care of my electronic equipment. After searching around, I read somewhere that toothpaste could possibly remove small, light scratches from the iphone glass.

I just tried and it worked great! It completely removed the scratch!! Its unbelievable… so if you find yourself in a similar situation, before buying some off the wall product, give toothpaste a try… its worked great for me.

Why remove scratches at all? Scratches on an IPHONE are signs of character. Like an old guitar played by a master. Where them proudly and novices will ask you…How can I do ????

  • 24 k2 // Apr 17, 2009 at 7:24 pm

    EUREKA!!!

In desperation, I tried a 3M “magic eraser” sponge on my scratched-face iPhone 3g. Worked GREAT! It took out the key scratches in about 10 seconds. No guarantees for yours, but it was cheap, fast and easy.

Well, I got 2 stratches. One light one right on the E key using the vertical keyboard and another deep one in the middle top area. I got my scratches, I think, from sliding my phone in and out of my Jeans pockets because there is a rivet right underneath the pocket. Any help in removing them might be rewarded with 20£! ?

  • 27 Tim // Jul 15, 2009 at 1:04 pm

Displex doesn’t work - got a few fine scratches on the glass and repeated application has done nothing. Don’t waste your money.

  • 28 Forrest // Jul 27, 2009 at 5:04 pm

Well actualy I do not own an iPhone I own a Sciphone, but any ways I was try to pick a song from the MP3 function and instead of using my finger I used the jack from the earbuds it came with and it left 3 small scratches. I just want to remove them because they bug the hell out of me lol.
