I keep hearing about how scratch resistant it is but apparently not for me. I just got the 3G and I've kept it in a leather case and treat it very gingerly. I'm very afraid of dropping it. Well, it hasn't been a week yet but today I noticed a tiny scratch off center of the screen. It's such an eyesore. Ironically enough I had just asked a friend for a screen guard recommendation (2 days ago) and he said I don't need one because his (1st gen iPhone) has been fine which is about a year old. I'm going to post on Apple's forum to see if maybe they've changed the manufacturing process for the 3Gs. I’m pretty T’d off. I didn't take this serious and hence didn't look what it was that caused the sound. Maybe a tiny piece of gravel carried in by my little son. Now I have a nasty 1/2 inch scratch on the side of the glass. After less that two weeks. dammit! Do nothing special with my iphone either, sometimes have keys in the same pocket as the phone but doubt that's the reason. I figure scratches are coming from something smaller and sharper. My thought is it might be some sand getting in my pockets doing the damage. Anyhow gonna get a protective screen cause have already about 10 scratches all over and causes annoying reflections.
